That's all.

More DIY

The gift that keeps on giving

Long after her passing my grandmother just keeps bringing me gifts - COUSINS!

1. Delesha - her close friend's granddaughter who i used to go to elementary school with and she was my 'play momma' on the playground. She is seriously one of the most optimistic individuals that I know. Its contagious and I'm so happy that she's here.

2. Mandi - her sister's great granddaughter. She grew up outside of Detroit and when I first saw a pic of her as a little girl, I was like 'whoa! She looks like me!' We've come into our own as adults but we still have a lot of similar features. Hair texture, skin color, nose, and eyes. Neither of us can smile with our eyes open - Ha!

3. Courtney - Her brother's grandson. Crazy thing is that he's been here for a year! And lives around the corner from The Boy. He and his GF are sooooo cute so I think they're my new favorites! Had an Ikea run with them yesterday and I'm happy that he's here.

My grandmother was the youngest of her siblings but she had the shortest time here on earth. Being the product of young parents, I spent a lot of time with my grandparents and it still brings me to tears to mention her passing but I'm glad to have little reminders of her here with me.

I'm Ready...

...to get organized. Studio living has really changed me. I'm all about maximizing my use of space and getting rid of clutter. I still have a few boxes that need to be chopped down from my one bedroom but I'm getting there. I've moved up in apartment size over the past 6 years and then I took a dramatic leap down. All to 'live in the city' but I do love it. I literally gave up about 400 sqft of apartment space in a nice cozy suburban area to live across from the PJs in DC. But I love it. There are a few things that make me want to scream and run back across the bridge to Virginia but I love being able to run home and walk the dog and then be right out again.

Back on subject... I'm getting organized. I've got a side hustle going that has caused my jewelry inventory to increase and since I've got all of this extra jewlry laying around, I've got lots of things to organize and I'm on it. I love personal projects and here is one of my inspirations thus far....
